Yes, Minecraft has announced a new DLC pack and it is Star Wars themed. Better late than never, I guess. Over the years, the popular open world block building adventure game has mash ups with many properties, including Mario and Marvel. Star Wars is the next step and the surprise it has not come sooner. It is especially surprising Disney did not seek this collaboration when the new trilogy was in cinemas or when it launched Disney+ last year. Instead, the Mouse House has decided to roll this DLC out to sync with the premiere of the second season of The Mandalorian. Either way, Star Wars on Minecraft is now available.

In an announcement blog post, the Mojang team says the DLC is extensive. It includes a texture set, mobs, items, reskins, UI treatments, a skin pack, a map, and of course, that iconic licensed soundtrack.

Details

Content is available from the original trilogy (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi) as well as The Mandalorian. Mojang points out the update is large: “We had to spread out all the galactical goodness across 12 different planet dioramas. You can get to the Marketplace any way you like, but you’ll be able to fly out of there in an X-wing or Tie fighter.”
